General Notes:
- Track along the pond beach repaired by the Slipper Mill's lorry drivers in
winter.
- Slipper Road created in the 1970s from the foreshore by residents
and Arthur Philips, developer of Roundhouse meadow
- George, the dragline operator, brought mud from the pond to form the early
bank
- Fill and rubble placed by volunteers
- Surface made from 'spare' loads of tarmac as they became available
- "Sailaway" - David & Jan Urry's house built on the site of a fuel tank
depot
- Depot had 5 tanks - fuel brought in by sea and an underground pipeline
from the shore
- Roundhouse meadow - old brick works
- Slipper Park - initially settlement for fairground people after fair
in front of the Royal Oak could no longer be held.
- Contributions to repair of Slipper Road and edge of road strengthened -
